The city of Apex, NC boasts miles and miles of greenway and walking, biking, and running trails. According to Money Magazine, Apex, NC is the 9th Best Town in America to live in and, the #1 town to live in in North Carolina!

Apex was incorporated as a town in the 1860s. It was named Apex because it is the highest point on the Chatham Railroad, running from Richmond, Virginia, to Jacksonville, Florida. Apex Union Depot, which presently houses the Apex Chamber of Commerce, was originally a station for the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. Later on, it also served as the Apex Community Library.

The downtown area of the city is centered around charming Salem Street and is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places.
